Is there an airport in Magaluf? What is the name of Magaluf Airport? Many people ask us these questions and our answer is very simple: Magaluf does not have an airport. The best option to get to Magaluf is arriving by plane at the only Mallorca airport: the Palma de Mallorca airport. Mallorca Airport is the closest one to the city of Magaluf. It is at 20-minute drive from Magaluf and at around 40 by bus. There are airports in Ibiza and Menorca, but the best, faster and cheaper way to reach Magaluf is to take a direct flight to Palma de Mallorca airport and then take a car, a taxi or a bus. If you have doubts about how to get to Magaluf, at the airport there are information and tourist points where they could help you just in case.
At summer, Magaluf is one of the most visited Mallorca areas by European tourists. Why is it so special? Its Calvià area has a long white sandy beach and a long walk along the coast with plenty of restaurants, bars and many other services. And, most of all, it has a very particular atmosphere. There are a lot of hotels and each one of them offers its best service for a pleasing stay. There are different opinions about Magaluf and the service they offer, but surely it is a destination you cannot miss it if you are coming to Mallorca on holiday. Magaluf is famous for the night and day fun and this is one of the reasons why it is one of the most visited destinations in Mallorca. So, don’t miss its stunning beach!
Considering that our main seat is in Magaluf, we thought it would have been useful to give you a little guide with all the information on how to get around and travel safely during your holiday, starting from your departure up to when you return home. This information will mainly help you with your route from the airport to the capital (Palma) and Magaluf.
How to get from the airport to Magaluf hotels?
Here you are some useful tips and information. Flight connections from the airport to Magaluf are very good. There’s no need to worry about. There is so much information and so it’s very simple to reach your destination. At the airport there is a bus line called Aerotip (red buses), which will take you directly to Magaluf. This is called line A11 and, depending on the traffic, it takes about 40 minutes to reach the centre of Magaluf. The bus has a frequency of 1 hour and 15 minutes and it costs 5 and 6 euros. Once you get there, everything is simpler: all facilities are in the area and it’s easy to find a map that will guide you. Anyway, you can always ask in bars and inns directions to your hotel. There someone surely will help you, but please don’t concern because everything is really close. There is also a taxi service but it’s a bit expensive, so we suggest you to leave the airport by bus.
It’s very simple to reach Palma (capital of Mallorca) from the airport. And in Palma there are many hotels too. From the airport, there is a direct line to the intermodal station of the capital (Plaza de España). You should take the Line 1 of EMT (blue and white buses) that will take you in about 15 or 20 minutes in the centre of Palma de Mallorca. In Palma intermodal railway station, 90% of the capital’s bus lines coincide, so you won’t have any problems with it. Nearly all the capital buses pass by in that place, so there is a great offer.
If you are looking for a combination of the Magaluf atmosphere and a cultural visit to the historic centre of Palma (something we strongly recommend), in order to move in the two areas (Palma and Magaluf), there is also a direct line. In this case, there is the TIB line (red buses). In fact, you should take the TIB line 106. If you want to go from Magaluf to Palma you can take the bus at any of its stops – you will find them on the bus route – and it will take you to Palma intermodal station in 20 minutes. If you go from Palma to Magaluf you will have to use the same line, but you will have to leave the intermodal station as all TIB lines of the Island leave from there.

The maximum distance you will have to travel in Magaluf to reach all the mentioned places (on foot) is of about 30 minutes. If you want to save time, you can also rent bicycles or the like to go around the area, as there are many services like this in Magaluf. You will move much faster than if you rent a car or go by taxi.

In Palma centre there are about 30 EMT bus lines that can take you anywhere in the capital or in the nearby areas you want to see. We give you some suggestions on the places of Palma you can’t miss:

Palma de Mallorca (the capital) is much bigger than Magaluf, so if you have time and you want to visit everything, you need to use the EMT buses to get around more easily. The cost of the trip is 1.50 euros, but you can have cheaper tickets according to number of trips in the intermodal station or getting the tourist bus by paying the daily fare.
If you have much time, you can visit other places in Mallorca, for example:
- The Drach Caves at Inca (you can get to Inca by train, taking it at Palma intermodal station)
- Go to Sóller in the ancient and famous Sóller railway station, which leaves from Plaza de España.
- The Monastery of Lluc (TIB bus line 330 at the intermodal station)
- The village of Valldemossa (TIB bus line 210 at the intermodal station)
- Visit the Palma Aquarium at the Arenal (EMT bus line 15 in Plaza de España)
- Shopping centres: Porto Pi Centro Comercial (in Palma centre, EMT bus line 1), Fan Mallorca on the outskirts of Palma (the newest on the Island by EMT bus line 18, 28 or 31) or the Festival Park Outlets (to Marratxí by train from the intermodal station)
